This story is called A Good Trick. You can see whose trick it was- Biff and Chip’s. Biff and Chip are wearing special clothes. They’re taking a bow. Look! Everyone is clapping. What sort of trick was it? Let’s read the story and find out.
이 이야기의 제목은 A Good Trick 입니다. 누구의 마술 인지 한 번 맞춰봐요. 비프와 칩은 특별한 의상을 입고 인사를 하고 있네요.
봐요! 모두가 박수를 치고 있어요. 어떤 마술일까요? 우리 함께 이야기를 읽고 알아맞혀보도록 해요.

[Narrator]: Biff and Chip are putting on a show. They have made a big banner which says The Biff and Chip Show. ‘Ladies and Gentlemen and…dogs,’ announced Biff. ‘We now present for your entertainment, our Amazing Trick.’ Biff pointed to a large square shape. It was covered by a rug. Chip held the rug in both hands. ‘First- a rug,’ he said. And he pulled the rug off the square shape.
비프와 칩은 쇼를 하려고 해요. 비프와 칩은 ‘비프와 칩의 쇼’ 라는 큰 현수막을 만들었어요. ‘신사 숙녀 여러분 그리고…강아지들,’ 비프가 말했어요. ‘이제 우리는 여러분들의 재미를 위해서 우리의 굉장한 마술을 보여드리도록 하겠습니다.’ 비프는
카펫으로 덮혀있는 커다랗고 네모난 것을 가리켰어요. 칩은 양손으로 카펫을 들어올리고 ‘첫 번째는 – 카펫입니다,’라고 말했어요. 그리고 그 네모난 것에서 카펫을 벗겨냈어요.

[Narrator]: What was underneath the rug? There was still a big square shape. This time it was covered by a sheet. ‘Ladies and gentlemen,’ announced Chip. ‘This is a trick that will amaze you.’ He pointed to the big shape. ‘A sheet!’ he said. Biff took hold of the sheet with both hands. ‘Watch carefully now,’ she said as she pulled it off.
카펫 아래에는 무엇이 있었을까요? 거기엔 또 커다랗고 네모난 것이 있었어요. 이번엔 그것이 시트로 덮여 있었답니다.
‘신사 숙녀 여러분,’ 칩이 말했어요. ‘이것은 여러분들을 놀라게 할 마술이랍니다.’ 칩은 그 커다란 것을 가리키며,
‘시트!’ 라고 말했어요. 비프는 두 손으로 시트를 들고, ‘자 이제부터 잘 보셔야 됩니다,’ 라고 시트를 벗겨내며 말했어요. ‘

[Narrator]: What was underneath the sheet? ‘A big box,’ said Biff. Biff and Chip took hold of it at each end. ‘Ladies and gentlemen,’ said Chip. ‘This trick has never been seen before by any human eyes.’ ‘It has not even been seen by any dog,’ said Biff. ‘And now,’ said Chip, ‘Prepare to be amazed.’ Biff and Chip lifted off the box.
시트 아래에는 무엇이 있었을까요? ‘커다란 상자입니다,’ 비프가 말했어요. 비프와 칩은 양 쪽 끝을 잡았어요. ‘신사 숙녀 여러분, 이 마술은 누구도 본 적 없는 마술입니다,’ 라고 칩이 말했어요. '그리고 이것은 또한 어떤 강아지들도 본 적이 없답니다,’ 비프가 말했어요. ‘자 이제 모두 놀랄 준비를 하세요.’ 칩이 말했고, 비프와 칩은 상자를 들어 올렸습니다.

[Narrator]: What was underneath the big box? Well, there was a much smaller box. Biff pointed at the little box. ‘A little box’ she announced. ‘Ladies and gentlemen,’ said Chip. ‘It is essential that you are completely quiet during the next part of this trick.’
커다란 상자 안에는 무엇이 있었을까요? 음…거기엔 훨씬 그것보다 더 작은 상자가 있었어요. 비프는 그 작은 상자를 가리키며,
'작은 상자입니다.’ 라고 발표했어요. 신사 숙녀 여러분,’ 칩이 말했어요.
‘이 마술의 다음 단계에는 꼭 조용히 하셔야 해요.’

[Narrator]: Suddenly Kipper jumped out of the little box. ‘Ta-ra! said Kipper, Biff and Chip all at the same time. ‘Goodness me!’ exclaimed Mum. “Kipper looked just like a jack-in-the-box! How ever did he manage to squeeze inside that little box? ‘What’s even more amazing,’ said Dad, ‘is how he managed to keep so still and quiet in there.’ Everyone laughed. ‘It was a good trick,’ said everyone.
갑자기 키퍼가 그 작은 상자에서 뛰어나왔고, ‘짜잔!’ 하고 키퍼, 비프 그리고 칩 모두가 동시에 말했습니다. ‘어머나!’ 엄마가 소리쳤어요. ‘키퍼는 정말로 깜짝 장난감 상자 같았어! 저 작은 상자에 어떻게 구부리고 들어갈 수 있었지?’ ‘나는 키퍼가 그 상자 안에서 얌전하게 조용히 있었다는 것이 더 놀라운 걸.’ 아빠가 말하자 모두가 웃었어요. ‘정말 훌륭한 마술이었어,’ 라고 모두 말했어요.
