[Narrator]: Mum and Kipper rode on the double-decker bus.
엄마와 키퍼는 2층 버스를 탔어요.
[Mum]: Hurry up, Kipper!
서둘러, 키퍼!

[Narrator]: Kipper left Teddy on the bus.
키퍼는 곰 인형을 버스에 두고 내렸어요.
[Kipper]: My teddy bear!
내 곰 인형!
[Mum]: Come on, Kipper!
가자, 키퍼!

[Narrator]: Kipper was very upset and couldn’t get to sleep without Teddy.
키퍼는 매우 슬펐고 곰 인형 없이 잠을 잘 수 없었어요.
[Chip]: Don’t cry!
[Biff]: Don’t cry!

[Narrator]: Mum and Kipper went to the Lost Property Office at the bus station.
엄마와 키퍼는 버스정류소에 있는 분실물 보관소에 갔어요.
[Mum]: Come on, we’re going on the bus again.
가자, 그 버스에 다시 한번 가보자.
We will find him!
우린 곰 인형을 찾을 수 있을 거야!

[Narrator]: Mum asked the lady if Kipper’s teddy bear was in the Lost Property.
엄마가 분실물 보관소의 여직원에게 키퍼의 곰 인형이 있는지 물어봤어요.
[Kipper]: Where’s my teddy?
내 곰 인형은 어디 있지?

Have you ever ridden on a bus? Mum and Kipper are just about to catch a bus with an upstairs and a downstairs. Do you know what a bus like this is called?
버스를 타 본적이 있죠? 엄마와 키퍼가 위층과 아래층이 있는 버스에 막 탔어요. 이렇게 생긴 버스를 뭐라고 부르는지 알고 있어요?
Now, let’s go back to the first page of this book.
이제, 이 책의 첫 번째 장으로 돌아가 보아요

[Narrator]: ‘We won’t go all the way upstairs today, Kipper,’ said Mum. ‘Because there won’t be time. We’re getting off at the next stop.’ Mum had taken Kipper with her when she went to have her eyes tested. Kipper loved riding on a double-decker bus, so Mum thought it would be a treat for him. As it was only a short ride, Kipper and Mum sat down stairs. Oh no! Kipper forgot that he had left Teddy behind, sitting on the seat beside him.
‘우리 오늘은 위층에 올라가지 않을 거야, 키퍼,’ 엄마가 말했어요. ‘다음정류장에서 내려야 해서 올라갈 시간이 없어’ 엄마는 키퍼를 데리고 시력검사를 가야 했어요. 키퍼가 2층 버스 타는 것을 너무 좋아했기에 엄마는 키퍼에게 좋은 선물이 될 것이라고 생각했어요. 짧은 시간이었기에 키퍼와 엄마는 아래층에 앉았어요. 오 이런! 키퍼가 옆에 둔 곰 인형을 두고 떠났어요.

[Narrator]: As soon as Kipper got off the bus, he remembered Teddy. ‘I’ve left Teddy on the bus!’ he gasped. By this time, the bus had moved off and was almost out of sight, so it wasn’t possible for Mum to run after it. ‘Oh, Kipper!’ said Mum. ‘There’s not much I can do at the moment. I’m already late for my eye-test.’ ‘But what about Teddy?’ wailed Kipper.
키퍼는 버스에서 내리자마자 그의 곰 인형이 생각났어요. ‘곰 인형을 버스에 두고 내렸네!’ 그는 급하게 말했어요. 버스가 움직여 눈앞에서 사라져 가 엄마는 따라갈 수 없었어요. ‘오, 키퍼!’ 엄마가 말했어요. ‘엄마가 그때 할 수 있는 것이 없었어. 시력검사 시간에 이미 늦었단다.’ ‘그럼 제 곰 인형은요?’ 키퍼가 울먹였어요.

[Narrator]: When Kipper went to bed that night, he was very upset. He couldn’t get to sleep without Teddy to keep him company and he couldn’t help crying. Biff and Chip tried to cheer him up. They took some of their favorite toys to give Kipper. ‘Don’t cry,’ said Chip.
밤에 침대에 누웠을 때, 키퍼는 그의 친구 곰 인형 없이는 잠을 잘 수가 없었어요. 비프와 칩은 키퍼의 기운을 북돋아 주려고 했어요. 키퍼와 비프는 자신들이 좋아하는 장난감을 키퍼에게 주었어요. ‘울지마’ 칩이 말했어요.

[Narrator]: The next day, Mum said to Kipper, ‘Come on, we’re going on the bus again. We’re going to the Lost Property Office at the Bus Station.’ Kipper was so worried that Teddy wouldn’t be at the Lost property Office. ‘I’m sure they keep your Teddy here. Don’t worry!’ said Mum. Kipper had fingers crossed on both hands and he kept saying to himself. ‘I wish…. I hope… I wish... I hope.’
다음날, 엄마가 키퍼에게 말했어요,’버스 정류장에 다시 가보자. 그곳에 있는 분실물 센터에 가 볼 거야.’ 키퍼는 곰 인형이 분실물센터에 없을 수도 있다는 생각에 걱정이 되었어요. ‘네 곰 인형은 분명히 거기 있을 거야. 걱정 마!’ 엄마가 말했어요. 키퍼는 양손의 손가락들을 꼬고 기도했어요. ‘제발……거기 있기를……’.

[Narrator]: The lady in the Lost property looked for a Teddy bear in the box! You can imagine how pleased Kipper was to see Teddy again, and you can imagine how glad Teddy was to see Kipper. But, the other lost teddies looked sad. ‘Don’t worry, guys! Your owners would all come in and find you soon!’ Kipper said.
분실물 센터 여직원이 박스 안에서 키퍼의 곰 인형을 찾았어요! 키퍼와 곰 인형이 서로 다시 만날 수 있어서 얼마나 기쁜지 상상이 가죠!. 하지만 분실물 센터에 있는 나머지 곰 인형들이 슬퍼 보이네요. ‘걱정 마, 얘들아! 곧 네 주인들이 찾으러 올 거야!’ 키퍼는 말했어요.
