[Narrator]: Chip and Kipper got up early in the morning.
칩과 키퍼는 아침 일찍 일어났어요.
[Chip]: Ssshhh…..Keep quiet, Kipper!
쉬……계속 조용히 해, 키퍼!
[Kipper]: Mmmm…bllbb being quiet.
음…..조용히.

[Narrator]: Kipper started to get dressed. But, Biff and Chip were already dressed.
키퍼는 옷을 입기 시작했어요. 하지만 비프와 칩은 이미 모두 입었어요.
[Biff]: Hurry up, Kipper!
서둘러, 키퍼!
[Chip]: Ssshhhh!
쉿~~~!

[Narrator]: Kipper began to pull a clean shirt from out of the pile of ironing.
키퍼는 잘 다려놓아 포개놓은 옷들 사이에서 깨끗한 셔츠를 빼냈어요.
[Biff & Chip]: Get dressed!
옷 입어!
[Kipper]: I will!
입을 거야!

Do you sometimes wake up feeling really good because you know that something very special is going to happen? One morning, when Kipper woke up, he knew it was a special day.
잠에서 깨어날 때 오늘 뭔가 특별한 일이 일어날 것 같다는 느낌이 가끔 드세요? 어느 날 아침, 키퍼가 일어났을 때, 오늘이 특별한 날인 것을 알았어요.
Now, let’s go back to the first page of this book.
이제, 이 책의 첫 번째 장으로 돌아가 보아요.

[Narrator]: Kipper found that Chip was already in the bathroom. Chip had washed and was almost dressed. ‘Keep quiet, Kipper. You mustn’t make a sound.’ Kipper ran the tap quietly and began to clean his teeth. ‘Ssshh!’ hissed Chip. ‘Mmmmm.. blllb being quiet,’ whispered Kipper through the foaming toothpaste. (키퍼는 칩이 이미 화장실에 있는걸 알았어요. 칩은 다 씻고 옷을 거의 입었어요. ‘계속 조용히 해, 키퍼. 시끄럽게 하면 안돼.’ 키퍼는 수도꼭지를 조용히 돌렸고 이를 닦기 시작했어요. ‘쉿!’ 칩이 낮게 말했어요. ‘응….조용히’, 거품 일은 치약을 물고 키퍼가 속삭였어요.)

[Narrator]: After he had washed and cleaned his teeth, Kipper tiptoed back to his bedroom and started to get dressed. Biff and Chip were already dressed, and they padded past Kipper’s door in their socks. ‘Hurry up, Kipper,’ whispered Biff. ‘And don’t forget you-know-what.’ Kipper opened the drawer and quietly pulled out some clothes and the surprise he had hidden there. ‘Ssshhhh!’
다 씻고 이를 닦은 후에, 키퍼는 발끝으로 살금살금 걸으며 침대로 돌아가 옷을 입기 시작했어요. 비프와 칩은 이미 옷을 입고 양말까지 다 신고 키퍼 방문을 지나 살금살금 걸었어요. ‘서둘러, 키퍼’, 비프가 속삭였어요. ‘그리고 잊지마 알지?’. 키퍼는 서랍을 열고 조용히 옷과 그가 감춰둔 무언가를 빼냈어요. ‘쉿~~~~!’

[Narrator]: Downstairs, Kipper found Biff and Chip putting on their jackets. ‘Oh, Kipper,’ whispered Biff. ‘You’re not dressed yet’. ‘Come on. Chip and I are ready to go.’ Kipper began to pull a clean shirt from out of the pile of ironing. Some shirts fell from the top of the pile. ‘Ssshhhh!’ Biff and Chip hissed.
아래층에서, 키퍼는 비프와 칩이 겉옷을 입는 것을 보았어요. ‘오, 키퍼’ 비프가 속삭였어요. ‘아직 옷 다 안 입었어?’. ‘빨리 해. 칩이랑 나는 준비 다했어’ 키퍼는 잘 다려놓고 포개놓은 옷에서 깨끗한 셔츠를 빼냈어요. 맨 위에 있는 셔츠가 떨어졌어요. ‘쉿!’ 비프와 칩이 낮게 말했어요.

[Narrator]: Kipper was almost ready for the ‘big surprise,’ by the time Biff and Chip had quietly opened the front door. The post lady had arrived and she had a bigger pile of envelopes than usual. ‘It’s the morning of our big surprise,’ Chip whispered to the post lady. Kipper was quietly putting his trainers on. ‘Ssshhhhh,’
키퍼는 깜짝 이벤트를 위한 준비가 다 되었고, 비프와 칩은 조용히 앞문을 열었어요. 우체국 여직원이 도착했고, 평소보다 많은 봉투 더미를 가지고 있었어요. ‘ 아침의 깜짝 이벤트에요,’ 칩은 우체국 여직원에게 말했어요. 키퍼는 조용히 운동화를 신었어요. ‘쉬이이이잇.’
P.8 [Narrator]: Chip had made a big banner saying ‘Happy birthday, Dad, 35 today!’ And Biff had worked out a way to hang it across the garden. ‘Happy birthday, Dad’ everyone called and the children made a lot of noise to wake Dad up. Dad pulled back the curtain and looked down at everyone with surprise. He was very happy. ‘Thanks, everyone!’
칩은 ‘아빠, 35세의 생신을 축하 드려요!’ 라는 플랜 카드를 만들었어요. 그리고 비프는 그것을 정원에 달았어요. ‘생신 축하해요. 아빠’ 모두들 말했고 아이들은 아빠를 깨우기 위해 소리쳤어요. 아빠는 커튼을 밀며 깜짝 축하주는 모두를 내려다 보았어요. 아빠는 행복했답니다. ‘ 다들 고마워!’
