[Narrator]: When the new fridge-freezer was delivered, it came in a huge cardboard box.
집으로 새 냉장고가 배달 온 뒤 커다란 냉장고 박스가 생겼어요.
[Chip]: Can we have the box, Mum?
엄마! 우리가 이 커다란 상자를 가져도 되요?
[Biff]: I want it, too.
나도 갖고 싶어요.

[Narrator]: Mum helped Biff and Chip make the house.
엄마는 비프와 칩이 상자로 집을 만드는 것을 도와주었어요.
[Chip]: 'It’s cozy in here!' said Chip.
'우와~이 안은 정말 아늑하다.' 칩이 말했어요.
[Biff]: Come out, Chip and help me paint the roof.
칩! 어서 나와서 지붕 색칠하는 거 도와줘.

[Narrator]: When the house was finished everyone thought it looked really good.
예쁜 상자 집이 완성 되자 모두들 멋진 집을 보고 뿌듯했어요.
[Chip]: It’s our house!
이것은 우리들만의 집이야.
[Kipper]: Uh oh..
오.. 이런..
[Biff]: 'It’s raining.' said Biff.
'비가 내리잖아.' 비프가 말했어요.

[Narrator]: It rained too much and the rain started to ruin the house.
비가 주룩주룩 내려서 상자 집을 망가뜨려버렸어요.
[Biff]: Oh, no!
오~저런,,
[Mum]: ‘Oh dear!’ said Mum. ‘Come inside the house!’
“오.. 저런..” 엄마가 말했어요. “어서 집 안으로 들어와.”

[Narrator]: Later that day, Dad found the tent and he put it up in the garden.
그날 오후 아빠는 마당에 텐트를 설치해 주셨어요.
[Kipper]: I like the tent!
나는 이 텐트가 너무 마음에 들어.
[Biff and Chip]: ‘Me, too!’ said Biff and Chip.
“나도” 비프와 칩이 말했어요.

The enormous box was left behind when a new fridge-freezer was delivered to the house. Biff and Chip wanted to have the box. What will they do with the box?
집으로 새 냉장고가 배달 온 뒤 커다란 냉장고 박스가 생겼어요. 비프와 칩은 이 상자가 너무 갖고 싶었어요. 과연 비프와 칩은 이 상자로 어떤 재미있는 놀이를 할까요?

[Narrator]: When the new fridge-freezer was delivered, it came in a huge cardboard box. ‘May we have the box, Mum?’ asked Chip. ‘I think we can make a little house out of it.’ ‘I want to have a bigger box!’ The delivery man said he had some even bigger boxes in the back of his van. ‘I have some extra boxes in my van. You can have them if you want.’ said the delivery man.
커다란 상자 속에 새 냉장고가 배달되었어요. “엄마, 우리 이 커다란 상자 가져도 되요?” 칩이 엄마에게 물어보았어요. “우리 이 상자로 작은 집을 만들자.” “나는 상자가 조금 더 컸으면 좋겠는데..” 배달부 아저씨는 차 뒤에 커다란 상자들이 많이 있다고 말했어요. “아저씨 차에 상자들이 더 있는데 아저씨가 줄까? 배달부 아저씨가 말했어요.

[Narrator]: Mum helped Biff and Chip make the house. She carefully cut out the windows and door, and she thought of a way to make a sloping roof. Biff and Chip painted the little house. Chip painted a brick pattern on the sides, and when he’d finished, Biff had a go at painting tiles on the roof. ‘It’s brilliant inside,’ said Chip, crawling through the little door.
엄마는 비프와 칩이 상자로 집을 만드는 것을 도와주었어요. 엄마는 상자 집에 창문도 만들고 문도 만들어주었어요. 그리고 엄마는 지붕을 어떻게 만드는 것이 좋을까 고민하고 있었어요. 칩은 이 상자 집을 예쁘게 색칠을 했어요. 칩은 벽돌모양으로 집의 벽면을 색칠했고 비프는 지붕을 타일 모양으로 색칠했어요. “우리 상자 집은 안에도 정말 멋지다!” 칩이 작은 문을 기어서 들어가며 말했어요.

[Narrator]: When the house was finished, everyone thought it looked really good. There was room inside for Biff, Chip and Kipper, and there was even a little extension for Floppy. Chip had painted a sign that said ‘Our house’ and another one that said ‘Floppy’. Biff found a little chair and a stool that were small enough to fit inside. ‘I think it’s brilliant!’ said Kipper. ‘You’d better come inside,’ Chip called to Biff. ‘It’s beginning to rain.’
멋지게 완성된 집을 보며 가족 모두 감탄했어요. 상자 집 안에는 비프, 칩 그리고 키퍼를 위한 작은 방도 있었어요. 플로피를 위한 작은 공간도 있었답니다. 칩은 “우리 집”이라는 표지판을 상자 집 앞에 붙이고 “플로피”라고 쓰여진 표지판을 플로피 방 앞에 붙여주었어요. 비프는 상자집안에 넣을 수 있는 작은 의자를 가지고 왔어요. “우와~정말 훌륭해.” 키퍼가 말했어요. “안으로 들어와봐.” 칩이 비프를 불렀어요. “어? 비가 내리네..”

[Narrator]: It didn’t just rain! It poured! ‘Oh, no!’ said Biff. ‘I don’t think cardboard is waterproof. I think the house is collapsing.’ ‘ The walls do feel soggy.’ said Chip. ‘And the roof’s beginning to sag.’ Mum ran out into the garden. ‘Oh dear,’ she said. ‘I should have warned you about the rain. We should have put the little house in the garage until the rain stopped.;
그때 비가 주룩주룩 내리기 시작했어요. “오..이런..”비프가 말했어요. “우리의 상자 집은 방수가 안되는거 같은데.. 집이 무너질 거 같아.” “벽이 비에 젖어서 축축해.” 칩이 말했어요. “지붕이 무너지려고 해.” 이 광경을 본 엄마는 마당으로 헐레벌떡 뛰어나왔어요. “오.저런…” 엄마가 말했어요. “엄마가 비가 온다고 말을 해줬어야 되는 건데.. 이 상자 집을 비가 멈출 때까지 창고에 넣어둘걸 그랬구나,,,”

[Narrator]: Later that day, Dad found the tent and he put it up in the garden. ‘Sorry your cardboard house was spoilt by the rain.’ He said, ‘but you can keep this tent up for as long as you like. ‘We like the tent.’ said Chip. ‘It’s quite waterproof.’ said Mum. ‘But, tents can collapse.’ said Dad. ‘So we must make sure we put all the pegs in firmly.’
그날 저녁, 아버지께서는 마당에 텐트를 쳐주셨어요. “비 때문에 너희들의 예쁜 상자 집이 망가졌다니 아빠가 속이 상하는구나.” 아빠가 말했어요. “너희들이 원할 때까지 마당에 텐트를 쳐놔도 좋다.” “아빠 우리는 이 텐트도 마음에 들어요.” 칩이 말했어요. “이 텐트는 비가 와도 젖지 않을 거야.” 엄마가 말했어요. “하지만 텐트도 무너질 수는 있단다.” 아빠가 말했어요. “그러니까 텐트의 말뚝을 튼튼하게 설치해야 돼.”
