Talk together (함께 얘기 해봐요)
Read the title and look at the picture. Talk about dressing up.
(제목을 읽고 그림을 보세요. 분장하는 것에 대해 함께 이야기해보세요.)
Read the story (이야기를 읽어보세요)
W = Word recognition (단어인지) C = Language comprehension (언어이해)
W: Page 1, sound each phoneme in ‘Is’ and ‘it’ together. Ask children to point out the word ‘Kipper’.
(1쪽, 함께 단어 ‘Is’와 ‘it’ 안에 있는 각각의 음소를 발음해보세요. 아이들에게 단어 ‘Kipper’를 가리켜보라고 하세요.)
W: Encourage them to read ‘Is it’ and ‘It is’ independently and point out the characters’ names independently.
(아이들에게 개별적으로 구문 ‘Is it’와 ‘It is’을 읽고 캐릭터의 이름들을 각각 집어보라고 권유하세요.)
C: Page 7, ask, “Who do you think it is?”

Step
1.Choose one of the characters’ names and find it in the book.
(캐릭터 이름 하나를 택하여 본문에서 찾아보세요.)
2.Ask, “Can you find it again?”
(“그 이름을 또 찾을 수 있니?” 라고 물어보세요.)
3.When they have found it, read both sentences.
(아이들이 이름을 찾으면 문장들을 모두 읽어보세요.)
4.Let them choose a name for you to find
(아이들에게 여러분이 찾아야 할 이름을 골라보라고 하세요.)
5.Have two turns each.
(각자 두 번씩 돌아가며 게임을 하세요.)

You can use these ideas straight away or on another day.

* Look for two-letter words in the story. Use plastic letters: i, s, t, n, f. Make and read the words: ‘is’, ‘it’, ‘in’, ‘if’.

* Collect clothing, scarves, handbags etc. for a dressing-up box. Encourage children to make up and act out stories.
