What’s this story about? (어떤 이야기 일까요?)
Biff, Chip and Kipper help Dad to make a pancake. When the pancake is ready, Mum runs in a pancake race with the pancake.
Biff, Chip, 그리고 Kipper는 아빠가 팬케이크를 만드는 것을 도와줍니다. 팬케이크가 거의 다
완성 되었을 때, 엄마는 팬케이크 경주에 나가서 펜케이크를 들고 달리기 경주를 합니다.
Talk Together (다 함께 이야기해 봅시다.)
Read the title and look at the pancake in the frying pan. Talk about any pancakes the child might have made, and what he/she likes to spread on them.
제목을 읽고 프라이팬에 있는 팬케이크를 보세요. 아이가 전에 만들었던 팬케이크에 대해 이야기해 보세요. 그리고 아이가 팬케이크에 어떤 것을 곁들어 먹었을 때 좋아했는지 이야기 해봅니다.
Read the story (이야기를 읽어보세요.)
W = Word recognition (단어인지) C = Language comprehension (언어이해)
C: Page 1, look at and name all the things Dad has got ready. Ask, “What else do you think he needs to do before he starts cooking?” Talk about washing hands before touching food.
페이지 1의 아빠가 요리하려고 준비한 물건들을 보고 이름을 알아보세요. 그리고 “아빠가 요리를 하기 전에 무엇이 필요할 것 같니?”라고 물어보세요. 음식을 먹기 전에 손을 씻는 것에 대해 이야기 해보세요
W: Read the words, helping the child to sound out the letters as much as he/she can.
단어를 읽어주세요. 아이가 글자의 발음을 소리 내어 읽을 수 있도록 도와주세요.
W: Pages 2 and 3, read the words, looking at the picture to see what Biff and Kipper are putting into the pancake mixture.
2, 3 페이지에서 단어를 읽고, Biff와 Kipper가 팬케이크 반죽에 무엇을 넣는지 그림을 살펴보세요.
W: Page 4 and 5, use letter sounds to read the words.

C: Talk about what Biff and Chip are doing. Explain why Kipper is putting butter in the pan.

C: Page 8, read the text. Ask, “Do you think Mum will win?”

W: Ask the child to read the story again. If he/she is not sure of any words, help the child to sound out the letters in the word, then look at the picture to remember what came next.
아이에게 이야기를 다시 읽도록 하세요. 만약 아이가 어떤 단어가 이해가 되지 않는다고 한다면, 아이가 그 단어의 글자를 소리 낼 수 있도록 도와주세요. 그리고 나서 그림을 보며, 무슨 그림이 어떤 순서로 오는지 기억할 수 있도록 해주세요.

Play a game(게임하기)
Find a word beginning with…(~으로 시작하는 단어를 찾아보세요.)
To help the child to notice the letter sound at the beginning of each word.
(각 단어의 첫 번째 글자 소리를 아이가 깨달을 수 있도록 지도해 주세요.)
ㆍChoose any word from the book and say, for instance, “Find a word beginning with ‘P’.” The child looks for a word beginning with that letter.
책에서 아무 단어를 선택한 후 말해 보세요. 예를 들면 “’P로 시작하는 단어를 찾아보렴.”
아이에게 그 글자로 시작되는 단어를 찾도록 합니다.
ㆍThen the child chooses a word and says, “Find a word beginning with…”
그리고 아이가 단어를 찾아서 말하면, “~로 시작하는 단어”를 찾아보세요.
ㆍHave two or three turns each.
2~3번씩 돌아가면서 해보세요.

You can use these ideas straight away, or on another day.

ㆍLet the child help to cook, if possible. He/she can help you fetch ingredients from the fridge and mix them together.
가능하다면, 아이가 요리하는데 참여하게 하세요. 아이가 당신에게 냉장고로부터 재료들을 가져오게 하고, 그 재료들을 함께 섞어 보게 하세요.
ㆍUnpack a bag of groceries together, naming everything and saying the letter that each word begins with.
포장되지 않은 식료품들을 함께 담아서, 이름을 표시합니다. 그리고 각 단어의 시작하는 글자를 얘기해 주세요.
