What’s this story about? (어떤 이야기 일까요?)
Kipper is carefully making a mud pie outside. Biff, Chip and Floppy are also in the garden playing, and Mum is watering the flowers.
키퍼가 밖에서 조심스럽게 진흙파이를 만들고 있습니다. 비프, 칩 그리고 플로피는 정원에서 놀고 있고, 엄마는 꽃에 물을 줍니다.
Just as Kipper gets up, he trips over Mum’s hose and the mud pie lands on top of Floppy’s head, giving him a mud pie hat!
키퍼가 일어나자 마자, 키퍼는 호스에 걸려 넘어지고 진흙 파이는 플로피의 머리 위에 멋진 진흙 파이 모자를 선사하며 떨어집니다.
Talk together (함께 이야기 해보세요)
Talk about mud pies, sandcastles and playing in the sand tray. Has the child ever made a mud pie?
진흙 파이, 모래성과 모래 쟁반을 가지고 노는 것에 대해서 이야기 해보세요. 아이가 진흙 파이를 만들어 본 적이 있나요?
Read the story (이야기를 읽어 보세요)
W = Word recognition (단어인지) C = Language comprehension (언어이해)
C: Look at the cover. Ask, “What is Kipper making?”
표지를 보세요. “키퍼가 뭘 만들고 있니?” 하고 물어보세요.
W: Page 1, say the sounds together in ‘hand’: h-a-n-d. Get the child to notice what each family member is doing.
1쪽, ‘hand’의 소리를 함께 말하세요: h-a-n-d. 가족들이 각자 무엇을 하고 있는지 알아보게 하세요.
W: Page 2, help the child to read ‘water’ by pointing to the initial letter ‘w’ and looking at what Kipper is doing in the picture.
2쪽, 첫 글자 ‘w’를 짚어주면서 아이가 ‘water’를 읽도록 도와주고 그림에서 키퍼가 무엇을 하고 있는지 보세요.
W: Page 3, say the sounds together in ‘sand’. Get the child to confirm this is the right word by looking at the picture of Kipper.
3쪽, ‘sand’라는 소리들을 함께 내보세요. 키퍼의 그림을 보면서 이것이 정말 맞는 단어인지 아이가 확인하게 하세요.
C: Look at the details in the picture to see what Biff, Chip, Mum and Floppy are doing.
비프, 칩, 엄마와 플로피가 무엇을 하고 있는지 알아보기 위해서 그림을 자세하게 살펴보세요.
W: Pages 4 and 5, ask the child to say the sounds in ‘tip’ and ‘pat’.
4,5 쪽, 아이에게 ‘tip’ 과 ‘pat’ 이라는 소리들을 내라고 하세요.
C: Page 6, ask, “What do you think might happen to the mud pie?”
6쪽, “진흙 파이가 어떻게 될 것 같니?” 라고 물어보세요,
C: Talk about Floppy’s ‘hat’ and enjoy the joke together. Ask, “Does he look happy?”
플로피의 ‘모자’와 상황에 대한 이야기를 하며 함께 즐거운 시간을 보내세요. “플로피는 행복해 보이니?” 라고 물어보세요.

Find the word
단어 찾기
ㆍTo help the child to recognize some words.
몇몇 단어들을 아이가 인지하도록 도와주세요.
ㆍCopy the first word from each page of the story onto small pieces of paper and place them face down on a table. The words are: ‘Put’, ‘Mix’, ‘Tip’, ‘Pat’, ‘not’.
이야기의 각 페이지에서 첫 번째 단어를 조그만 종이 쪽지에 적고 뒤집어서 탁자 위에 올려 주세요. 단어는: ‘Put’, ‘Mix’, ‘Tip’, ‘Pat’, ‘not’입니다.
ㆍAsk the child to choose a piece of paper and to read the word to you. Then ask him/her to find the word in the story.
아이에게 쪽지를 하나 뽑고 그 단어를 읽어달라고 하세요. 그리고 나서 아이에게 그 단어를 이야기에서 찾게 합니다.
ㆍContinue until the child has read and found all the words in the story.
아이가 이야기에서 모든 단어들을 읽고 찾을 때까지 계속 하세요.

ㆍRead the story to the child while he/she performs actions like Kipper does.
아이가 키퍼가 하는 행동들을 따라 하는 동안 아이에게 이야기를 들려주세요.
ㆍPlay at stirring sand and water together, in a place where it doesn’t matter if you make a mess!
더러워져도 상관 없는 장소에서 모래와 물을 같이 섞으면서 노세요.
ㆍThis is not only fun, but it can teach the child how things change when mixed together.
이 놀이는 재미있을 뿐만 아니라 모래와 물을 섞었을때 어떻게 변하는지 가르쳐 줄 수 있어요. |
