What’s this story about? (어떤 이야기 일까요?)
Floppy finds a hedgehog that is curled up like a ball. Mum, Biff and Chip creep out at night to see the hedgehog walking about it is quite unlike a ball any more.
플로피는 공처럼 말려있는 고슴도치를 발견해요. 엄마, 비프 그리고 칩은 밤에 몰래 나와서 고슴도치가 걸어 다니는 걸 구경해요, 이젠 절대 공 같아 보이지는 않아요.
Talk together (함께 얘기 해봐요)
Talk about the hedgehog and find the pictures of it in the book. If you have seen a real hedgedog, or met one in other stories, remind the child about it.
고슴도치에 대해 얘기 해보고 책에 있는 그림들을 찾아 보세요. 만약 진짜 고슴도치를 본 적이 있다거나 다른 이야기에서 접해 보았다면 아이에게 상기시켜 주세요.
Read the story (이야기를 읽어보세요)
W = Word recognition (단어인지) C = Language comprehension (언어이해)
W: Read the title on the cover, pointing at the words. Ask the child to point and sound out the letters that they recognize in ‘hedgehog’. Ask, “How many letter ‘h’s can you find?”
단어들을 가리키면서 표지에 있는 제목을 읽으세요.아이에게 ‘hedgedog’에서 인식하는 글자들을 가리키고 그것들의 소리를 내어 보라고 하세요. "몇 개의 h를 찾을 수 있니?" 라고 물어보세요
W: Ask the child to find the title on the back cover, and read it.
아이에게 뒷 표지에서 제목을 찾아보게 하시고, 읽게 하세요.
C: Page 1, ask, “What is Biff doing in the garden?”,”Do you think Floppy is enjoying himself?” 1쪽, “정원에서 비프가 무엇을 하고 있니?”, “네 생각엔 플로피가 혼자서 즐기고 있는 것 같니?”라고 물어 보세요.
C: Page 2-3, Floppy found two balls. Ask, “What do you know about the prickly one?”
2-3쪽, 플로피가 2개의 공을 찾습니다. “너는 가시투성이인 것에 대해 무엇을 알고 있니?” 라고 물어보세요.
C: Page 4-5, ask, “How can you tell that Floppy hurt his nose?”, “How did he hurt it?”
4-5쪽에 “플로피가 코를 다친걸 어떻게 말할 수 있니? 어떻게 다쳤니?” 하고 물어보세요.
C: Page 6-7, ask, “Why did they go out at night?”, “What were they looking for?”, “Why did they leave Floppy indoors?”
6-7 쪽에 “왜 그들은 밤에 나갔을까? 그들은 무엇을 찾고 있었을까? 왜 플로피를 실외에 두고 갔을까?” 하고 물어보세요.
C: On the last page, ask, “What do you think the hedgehog was doing?”, “Why do we not see hedgehogs very often?”
마지막 페이지에 “고슴도치가 무엇을 하고 있었을까? 왜 우리는 고슴도치를 자주 볼 수 없을까?” 하고 물어보세요.

Play a game (게임을 해봐요)
Where is it?
어디에 있니?
ㆍTo help the child to practice explaining where things are.
물건들이 어디에 있는지 설명하는 것 도와주기.
ㆍChoose any page and ask a question about something in the picture, such as “Where is the tyre?” Ask the child to describe, rather than point, such as “It’s behind the shed” or “It’s by the fence.”
아무 페이지를 선택하고 그림에 대해서 물어보세요. 예를 들면 “바퀴가 어디에 있니?라고 물어봐 주세요. 아이에게 묘사하라고 물으세요, 가리키기 보다는 “헛간 뒤에 있어” 혹은 “울타리 옆에 있어” 라구 묘사하게 해보세요.
ㆍAsk the child to ask you a question, such as “Where are the flowers?” or “Where is the lamp?”, “Where is the ball?”
아이가 당신에게 문제를 물어보게 하세요. 예를 들면, “꽃들은 어디에 있지? 양은 어디에 있지? 공은 어디에 있지?”라고 물어보게 하세요.
ㆍYou answer the question.
아이들의 질문에 대답해주세요.
ㆍHave two or three turns each.

학교 도서관이나 동네 도서관에서 고슴도치에 대해 더 알아보세요.
ㆍPlay ‘Hunt the toy’. Choose a small toy to hide in the room. Make a rule that it must be hidden no higher than the child’s head height. Take turns to look for the toy. Explain where you found it, e.g. behind the books, under the table, in the box.
‘장난감 사냥하기’ 를 해보아요. 방에 숨길 수 있는 조그만 장난감을 하나 고르세요. 아이의 키보다 크지 않은 높이에 숨겨야 된다는 걸 규칙으로 정하세요. 장난감을 찾기를 돌아가면서 하세요. 어디서 찾았는지 설명하세요. 예를 들면, 책들 뒤에, 책상 밑에, 상자 안에서 라고 말하게 하세요. |
