What’s this story about? (무엇에 관한 스토리 인가요?)
Kipper goes with Dad to the library. Dad chooses two books, but Kipper chooses a whole pile! The librarian explains that he must put some back.
아빠와 함께 키퍼가 도서관을 갔습니다. 아빠는 책을 2개만 골랐는데 키퍼는 산더미같이 골랐습니다. 도서관원이 키퍼에게 일부는 돌려놔야 하는 이유를 설명합니다.
Talk Together (다 함께 말해봅시다)
Talk about favourite books. Talk about the child’s experiences of going to the library. Ask, “How many books are you allowed to have at one time?” Talk about taking books back before you choose more.
가장 좋아하는 책들에 대해서 이야기해 봅니다. 아이가 도서관에 갔던 경험에 대해서 이야기해 보세요. 질문해봅니다. “한번에 몇 개의 책을 가질 수 있도록 허락되었나요?” 책을 더 고르기 전에 돌려놓는 것에 대하여 이야기 해 봅니다.
Read the story (책 읽기) W = Word recognition (단어인지 능력) C = Language comprehension (언어이해)
W: Read the title on the cover, pointing to the words.
단어에 중점을 두어 책 커버의 제목을 읽어봅니다.
C: Page 1, read the ‘Library fines’ sign. Explain that Dad is paying some money because he has brought back his library books late.
페이지 1의 ‘Library fines’의 게시를 읽어봅니다. 아빠가 대여한 책을 늦게 돌려줘서 돈을 내는 것에 대하여 설명하여 주세요.
C: Page 3, read the ‘Children’s Corner’ notice, where Kipper is reading.
페이지 3에서 키퍼가 읽고 있는 곳의 ‘Children’s Corner’ 간판을 읽습니다.
W: Pages 4 and 5, ask the child to point to any letters they recognize and to name them. Read some of the book titles.
페이지 4, 5에서 아이에게 아무 글자를 선택하여 인지하고 말해보도록 지시하세요. 몇몇 책들의 제목을 읽어 봅니다.
C: Page 5, point out that Dad is looking in the ‘Humour’ section, so he must like funny books.

Play a game(게임하기)
Look for a letter (철자찾기)
To encourage the child to look for letters inside words.
(아이가 단어들 안에 철자 찾기 하는 것을 유도합니다.)
ㆍOpen the book at any page that has writing. Say, “Look for a letter ‘b’ “ (or any other letter you can see on the page). The child finds the letter.
글이 적혀 있는 책의 아무 페이지나 펴봅니다. “’b’을 찾아보세요” 라고 말합니다. (아니면 페이지에서 볼 수 있는 아무 글자). 아이들이 글자를 찾습니다.
ㆍSometimes there will be more than one of the same letter.
어쩔 때엔 같은 글자가 여러 개 있을 수 있습니다.
ㆍHave two or three turns each.
2~3차례 정도 해봅니다.
