When the day came for Kipper to go, he felt very, very nervous.

At last, Mum and Miss Harvey, the teacher, persuaded Kipper to let go of the gatepost and go inside.

The room was full of children all playing busily.

Instead he played in the cloakroom, feeling too shy and nervous to come out.

Miss Harvey suggested that Mum went home.

After Mum had gone, Miss Harvey, and two of the children, Caroline and Tony, made Kipper feel a lot better.

Kipper played with Caroline and Tony for a little while.

He put so many pieces of Lego in the pan that some of them fell out when he stirred them.

Everyone in the nursery school was busy. Everyone looked happy.

Best of all, everyone shared all the toys and played together.

In the end, Mum had to force Kipper to put his coat on, and she had to pull Kipper out of the door.
