Have you ever been poorly? Have you ever had spots? Did you stay in bed? Who looked after you? This is what happened when Kipper woke up one morning and didn¡¯t feel very well.

When Kipper woke up, he didn¡¯t feel very well. His head ached and he felt hot all over. Worst of all, his skin felt itchy and uncomfortable.
Kipper°¡ ÀϾÀ» ¶§ ±×´ÙÁö ¸öÀÌ ÁÁÁö ¾Ê¾Ò¾î¿ä. ¸Ó¸®°¡ ¾ÆÇÁ°í ¿Â¸öÀÌ ¶ß°Å¿ü¾î¿ä. °¡Àå ÃÖ¾ÇÀÌ¿´´ø °ÍÀº ÇǺΰ¡ °¡·Æ°í ºÒÆíÇÏ´Ù´Â °ÍÀÌ¿´¾î¿ä.

Dad went into Kipper¡¯s room to take a look. When he saw Kipper he gasped because Kipper had spots.
¾Æºü°¡ KipperÀÇ ¹æÀ¸·Î º¸·¯ °¬¾î¿ä. ¾Æºü´Â Kipper¸¦ º¸°í ³î¶ú¾î¿ä. ¿Ö³Ä¸é KipperÀÇ ¸ö¿¡ ¿­²ÉÀÌ »ý°å±â ¶§¹®ÀÌ¿¹¿ä.

¡®You poor thing,¡¯ said Dad. ¡®I think you may have got chicken pox.¡¯

¡®But I¡¯m not a chicken,¡¯ said Kipper miserably. ¡®How can I have chicken pox?¡¯

Dad went down to the kitchen to make Kipper a nice hot blackcurrant drink.

It was still quite early and nobody else had woken up. ¡®I¡¯ll just get Kipper settled down,¡¯ thought Dad. ¡®Then I¡¯ll take Mum a cup of tea.¡¯

But at the moment Biff and Chip appeared at the kitchen door, and guess what? Biff and Chip had spots, too.

¡®Goodness me,¡¯ said Dad. ¡®You¡¯ve got chicken pox as well. At least I think it¡¯s chicken pox. I think I¡¯ll call the doctor, just to make sure.¡¯

Dad sent Biff and Chip back to bed. Then he made all the children a nice hot blackcurrant drink. At last he took Mum her cup of tea.

The trouble was, Mum didn¡¯t feel well that morning, either. She had a headache and her body ached all over.

At last the doctor came. She took a look at Biff and Chip. ¡®You¡¯ve both got slight temperatures and it looks as if you have chicken pox.¡¯ Stay in bed,¡¯ she said. ¡®and try not to scratch those spots.¡¯

Mum was sitting downstairs in a chair. When the doctor went in with Dad to see her, Dad had quite a shock. Mum had spots.

¡®Oohhhh,¡¯ groaned Mum. ¡®Chicken pox is the last thing I want.¡¯

SO Kipper, Biff, Chip, and Mum all stayed in bed and Dad looked after everyone. He made sure that they had plenty of nice soothing drinks.

He took them things to read and he made them nice meals. When he took some food up to Mum, he even put a vase with some flowers in it on the tray.

Dad had to do all the work in the house. There was a lot of washing to do so Dad loaded the washing machine and did two loads of washing.

Next, Dad planned what meals he¡¯d make for the next few days. There didn¡¯t seem to be a lot of food in the house so he went seemed in such a hurry.

The supermarket was very busy and everyone seemed in such a hurry. Dad thought about looking after the family all the time.

Dad did really good job looking after Kipper, Biff, Chip and Mum. He made them nice meals and he made sure they all had everything they wanted. In particular, he made sure that nobody scratched those spots.

In fact he looked after the family so well that soon, everyone got better, and everyone was able to get up.
