* Cover/Introduction
This story is about Chip doing tricks on his bicycle. Look, he's not cycling safely.
He's messing about.
이 이야기는 Chip의 자전거로 묘기에 관한 이야기예요. 보세요, 자전거를 안전하게 타고 있지 않네요. 실수를 하고 있어요.
But, wehre is he doing the tricks? Well, he' doing them in the park. He knows that it is definitely not a good idea to do tricks on the road.
하지만 어디에서 묘기를 하고 있나요? 공원에서 하고 있어요. 길에서 하는건 위험하다는걸 Chip도 알고 있으니까요.

Chip loves his bicycle. There's a track in the play area in the park where people are allowed
to cycle. So when Mum took Floppy for a walk, Chip went along on his bicycle.
Chip은 자전거를 정말 좋아해요. 공원에는 자전거 전용도로가 있답니다.
그래서 엄마와 Floppy가 산책하는 동안, Chip은 자전거를 타고 놀아요.
Once they got in the park, Chip showed Mum his first trick.
He took his hands off the handlebars.
한번은 공원에 갔는데 Chip이 엄마에게 첫 번째 묘기를 보여주네요. 손잡이에서 손을 놓았어요.
'Look at me, Mum,' he called. 'I've been practising this.'
‘엄마, 보세요.’ 그가 불렀어요. ‘나 이거 연습했어요.’
'Just you be careful,' said Mum. 'If you fall off and hurt yourself, it will be your own fault.'
‘조심해라’ 엄마가 말했어요. ‘너 떨어져서 다치면 다 네 잘못이야.’

Mum gasped when she saw Chip's next trick. He had hi knee on the saddle and he held one leg out behind him.
엄마는 Chip의 다음 묘기를 보고 놀랐어요. 그는 한쪽 무릎을 안장에 대고 다른 쪽 다리는 뒤로 뻗었어요.
'Look at me Mum' he called. 'Look at me on my bike.'
‘엄마, 보세요.’ 그가 불렀어요. ‘자전거 위의 저 좀 보세요.’
Mum looked worried but she didn't stop him. She did not want to molyycoddle Chip.
엄마는 걱정이 됐지만 말리지는 않았어요. 엄마는 Chip이 나약하길 바라지 않았거든요.
'I hope you know what you are doing.'she said. 'If you slip and hurt yourself, it will be your own fault.'
‘난 네가 무슨 행동을 k고 있는지 알았으면 좋겠구나.’ 엄마가 말했어요. ‘네가 미끌어져 넘어지면 네 책임이란다.’

There was a hump in the park. It was fun to ride up it quite fast. Then the bike would jump and
fly through the air. The hump was called Jump to Bump.
공원에는 작은 언덕이 있었어요. 빠르게 올라가는 게 재밌었어요. 그런 다음에 자전거는 뛰어서 나르죠.
그 작은 언덕은 ‘Jump the Bump'라고 불렸어요.
'Look at me, Mum' called Chp as he cycled fast, ready to jump the bump. 'Look at me on my bike.' ‘
엄마, 보세요.’ Chip은 언덕에서 뛸 준비를 하며 엄마를 불렀어요. ‘자전거 탄 저를 보세요.’
'Don't fly too high when you jump the bump,' called Mum.'If you have a crash landing,
it will be you own fault.'
‘언덕을 넘을 때 너무 높게 뛰지 말아라.’ 엄마가 말했어요. ‘땅에 부딪치면 네 책임이야.’

Chip sped to the top of the hump. 'Look at me, Mum' he called. His bicycle jumped in the air.
What Mum and Chip hadn't noticed was that there was a big, wet, muddy puddle on the other side of Jump the Bump.
Chip은 언덕 위까지 속도를 냈어요. ‘엄마, 보세요.’ 그가 불렀어요.
그의 자전거가 위로 점프를 했어요. 엄마와 Chip이 미처 몰랐던 것은 언덕 반대편에 큰, 진흙탕이 있었다는 거예요.
Chip landed with a splash and a splat. The mued flew up towards Mum. 'Oh no!' called Mum.
Chip은 물이 튀기며 내려왔어요. 진흙이 엄마에게 튀었어요. ‘오, 이런,’ 엄마가 말했어요.

Poor Mum. She was covered in splashes of mud. They were all over her coat and her trousers.
불쌍한 엄마, 엄마는 진흙을 뒤집어썼어요. 엄마의 코트와 바지 전부에 묻었어요.
'Look at me!' said Mum. 'I'm all messy and muddy.'
‘날 봐!’ 엄마가 말했어요. ‘진흙에 지저분해졌어.’
Chip looked at Mum in horror. He hadn't meant to splash her.
'I'm really sorry, Mum,' he said.
Chip은 화가 난 엄마를 봤어요. 그가 엄마에게 그렇게 하려고 한 것은 아닌데 말이죠. ‘정말 죄송해요, 엄마.’ 그가 말했어요.
'It's partially my own fault,' said Mum. 'I shouldn't have let you do all those silly tricks.'
‘부분적으로 내 잘못이기도 해.’ 엄마가 말했어요. ‘내가 이런 어리석은 묘기는 못하게 했어야 하는데...’
