| Stage 1 first words ; Who is it?(누구지?)

Biff, Chip and Kipper are looking at someone’s shadow. Can you tell whose shadow it is? This story is called Who is it? And in it we see lots of people’s shadows. Some are easy to recongnise. But there is one shadow that is rather a surprise.
Biff, Chip과 Kipper는 누군가의 그림자를 보고 있어요. 누구의 그림자인지 말할 수 있나요? 이 이야기의 제목은 ‘Who Is It?' 이예요. 그리고 이 이야기 안에서 우리는 많은 사람들의 그림자를 본답니다. 몇 개는 알아내기 쉬울 꺼예요. 그러나 그 중에는 놀랄만한 그림자도 하나 있답니다.

When the others saw Biff and Chip’s shadows against the wall of the tent, they laughed.
텐트 벽에 생긴 Biff와 Chip의 그림자를 보고 아이들은 웃었어요.
‘Who is it?’ they shouted.
‘누구지?’ 아이들은 소리쳤어요.
Of course they knew it was Biff and Chip because they knew their shapes.
아이들은 Biff와 Chip의 형태를 알았기 때문에 당연히 그것이 Biff와 Chip이라는 것을 알았어요.
Chip did a little dance and his shadow looked funny as he did it.
Chip은 춤을 추었고 그림자 역시 그가 하는대로 우스웠답니다.
Biff had an idea for a game.
Biff는 게임이 떠올랐어요.
‘Let’s see who can make the funniest-looking shadow,’ she said.
‘누가 가장 우스운 그림자를 만드는지 해보자’ Biff가 말했어요.

Biff and Chip each tried to make a funny shadow.
Biff와 Chip는 서로 우스운 그림자를 만들려고 노력했어요.
But even though she’d thought of the game, Biff couldn’t think how to make a funny-looking shadow.
Biff는 게임을 생각해내기는 했지만 어떻게 우스운 그림자를 만들어야 할지 몰랐어요.
She tried to make a rabbit shape.
Biff는 토끼모양을 만들려고 했어요.
Chip knew how to make a good shadow shape with his hands.
Chip은 손으로 어떻게 멋진 그림자를 만드는지 알고 있었답니다.
‘Guess what I’m going to make, ‘ he said.
‘내가 무얼 만들지 맞춰봐’ Chip이 말했어요.
He used his fingers to make a face and his thumbs to make two ears.
그는 손가락으로 얼굴을 만들고 엄지로 두 귀를 만들었어요.
‘That’s great,’ shouted Kipper.
‘멋지다’ Kipper가 소리쳤어요.
‘It looks just like a chicken.’ Chip sighed.
‘정말 닭 같어’. Chip이 한숨을 쉬면서 말했어요.
‘It’s nothing like a chicken,’ He said.
‘이건 전혀 닭같지 않아’

Mum and kipper said they’d have a go at making a funny shadow.
엄마와 Kipper도 재밌는 그림자를 만들겠다고 했어요.
Mum put on her big dressing gown.
엄마는 엄마의 큰 드레스 가운을 입었어요.
She put her arms out. ‘I’m Queen Shady Lady,’ said Mum.
그리고 손을 벌리고는 ‘나는 그림자 여왕이다.’ 라고 말했어요.
She picked up a fly swat and held it above kipper’s head. ‘This is my servant, Little pest,’ said Mum.
엄마는 파리채를 Kipper 머리 위로 들고는 ‘이 사람은 나의 신하 Little Pest이다’ 라고 했어요.
She tapped kipper on the head with the fly swat.
그리고는 Kipper의 머리를 파리채로 가볍게 쳤어요.
Kipper threw out his arms and fell backwards. Everyone laughed.
그러자 Kipper는 손을 뻗으며 뒤로 넘어졌어요. 모두들 웃었답니다.

Then something really funny happened. Floppy and a spaceman appeared.
그때 정말 재밌는 일이 생겼어요. Floppy와 외계인이 나타났거든요.
‘Greetings Earthlings,’ said the spaceman in a funny voice.
‘안녕 지구인들’ 외계인이 우스운 목소리로 말했어요.
Everyone was really surprised. ‘It’s amazing,’ said Chip
모두들 매우 놀랐답니다. ‘대단하다. 누구지?’ Chip이 말했어요.
‘It ‘s a spaceman of course,’ said Mum.
‘당연히 외계인이지’ 엄마가 말했어요.
‘I saw the spacecraft landing in the next field. I just forgot to mention it.’
‘우주선이 옆 벌판에 착륙한걸 내가 봤거든. 얘기해주는걸 깜빡 했단다.’
Everyone laughed. They knew who the spaceman was.
모두들 웃었어요. 다들 외계인이 누구인지 알았거든요.
But Floppy didn’t like the look of the spaceman. He barked loudly at him.
그러나 Floppy는 외계인의 생김새가 맘에 들지 않았어요. 그래서 그를 향해 크게 짖어댔답니다.

‘It’s not a real spaceman, then,’ laughed Kipper.
'그럼 진짜 외계인이 아니네‘ Kipper가 웃었어요.
‘No, it’s Dad,’ said Dad.
‘그래, 아빠란다.’ 아빠가 말했어요.
Everyone laughed when they saw how Dad had made himself look like a spaceman.
아빠가 어떻게 외계인으로 분장했는지 보았을 때 모두 웃었답니다.
He had put his legs inside Biff and Chip’s sleeping bags and he had a padded anorak on.
아빠는 Biff와 Chip의 침낭에 다리를 넣고 패딩 잠바를 입었어요.
He had a plastic bowl on his head.
머리에는 플라스틱 그릇을 쓰고요.
‘That was great joke,’ said Mum.
‘멋진 장난이였어요.’ 엄마가 말했어요.
‘You looked just like a spaceman when you were a shadow.’
‘그림자에선 정말 외계인 같았어요.’
‘But now you just look ridiculous,’ laughed Biff
‘하지만 지금은 우스꽝스러워요.’ Biff가 웃으며 말했어요.
