This story is called Six in a bed. There are only two people in this bed &이 이야기의 제목은 'Six in a Bed'예요. 이 침대에는 엄마랑 아빠 두 명밖에 없는데요. 알람이 울린거 보면 이제 일어날 시간 같군요. 아빠가 눈을 떴어요. 아빠가 무슨 생각을 하는지 궁금하네요. 아빠는 침대에 6명이 있다고 생각하지 않겠죠.

It was Saturday morning.
토요일 아침이예요.
Dad and Mum had woken up. ‘Is this a miracle?’ asked Dad. ‘There is no sound from the children. They must still be fast asleep.’
아빠와 엄마가 눈을 떴어요. ‘이게 기적인가?’ 아빠가 물었어요.‘아이들 소리가 나지 않아. 아직 잠자는 모양이군’
‘we may as well enjoy the peace and quiet for a bit,’’ said Mum.
‘우리도 잠시나마 조용하고 평화로움을 즐겨야겠어요.’ 엄마가 말했어요.
Mum started reading her book and Dad began to read a magazine.
엄마는 책을 읽기 시작했고 아빠는 잡지를 보기 시작했습니다.
But the peace and quiet didn’t last very long.
그러나 그 조용함과 평화는 오래가지 못했어요.
Kipper woke up and he went padding in to Mum and Dad.
Kipper가 일어나 엄마, 아빠에 끼어 들었거든요.

Kipper climbed into bed between Mum and Dad.
Kipper는 엄마, 아빠 사이로 침대 위로 올라왔어요.
‘Will you read me a story? he asked.
‘이야기 책 읽어주실꺼예요?’ 그가 물었어요.
Dad looked out of the window. ‘it’s raining,’ he said.
아빠가 창 밖을 내다봤어요. ‘비가 오네’ 아빠가 말했어요.
‘There’s no hurry to get up.’ And so Mum, Kpper and Dad settled down and Mum began to read Kipper his book.
‘일찍 일어날 필요가 없겠네’ 그래서 엄마, Kipper, 아빠는 다시 앉았어요. 엄마는 Kipper에게 책을 읽어주기 시작했어요.
It was a good story. Dad found himself quiet enjoying it.
좋은 이야기였어요. 아빠 역시 그 이야기를 좋아했답니다.
Just then, Chip appeared in the doorway. He was carrying Catsimir, his favourite toy.
그때, Chip이 문에 서있었어요. 그는 그가 제일 좋아하는 Catsimir를 들고 있었어요.

Chip climbed into bed beside Dad. Mum carried on reading the story.
Chip은 침대로 올라와 아빠 옆에 앉았어요. 엄마는 계속 이야기를 읽었답니다.
Chip knew it well, and he kept interrupting.
Chip은 이 이야기를 잘 알고 있었기 때문에 자꾸 껴들었었어요.
Mum, Kipper, Dad and Chip enjoyed the story so much that Biff woke up.
엄마, Kipper, 아빠, chip이 이 이야기를 매우 즐기고 있을 때 Biff가 일어났어요.
She went to Mum and Dad’s bedroom door carrying Big Ted, her favourite toy. ‘What’s going on?’ she asked.
그녀는 그녀가 제일 좋아하는 큰 곰인형을 안고는 엄마, 아빠 방의 문에 서서 ‘무슨 일이야?’ 라고 물었어요.

Biff climbed into bed beside Mum. ‘I love this story,’ she said.
Biff는 침대로 올라와 엄마 옆에 앉았어요. ‘나 이 이야기 좋아해요’ 그녀가 말했어요.
‘We haven’t heard it for ages.’ So Mum carried on reading and Biff and Chip kept interrupting.
‘이 이야기 안 들은지 정말 오래됐네’ 그래서 엄마는 이야기를 계속 읽어나갔고 Biff와 Chip은 계속 끼어들었었어요.
Biff, Mum, Kipper, Dad and Chip enjoyed the story so much that Floppy woke up.
Biff, 엄마, Kipper, 아빠, Chip이 모두 이야기를 매우 즐기고 있을 때 Floppy가 일어났어요.
He had been asleep in his basket down in the kitchen.
그는 부엌에 있는 그의 바구니에서 자고 있었어요.
He appeared in the doorway with his tail wagging. ’Grr!’ he went. ‘I wonder if there’s room for me in that bed?’
그는 꼬리를 흔들며 방문 앞에 나타났어요. ‘으르렁! 침대에 내가 들어갈 자리가 있을까?’

And Floppy suddenly jumped on the bed.
그리고는 Floppy는 침대 위로 뛰어올랐어요.
‘No Floppy, get down,’ shouted Dad but at that moment there was a crack, and a thud.
‘안돼 Floppy, 내려가’ 아빠가 소리쳤지만 그 순간 우지직, 쿵 소리가 났어요.
The leg of the bed broke and the corner of the bed crashed on to the floor.
침대 다리가 부서지면서 한쪽 귀퉁이가 땅에 떨어진 거예요.
‘Oh no!’ said Mum. ‘Now we’ll have to get up.’
‘오, 이런’ 엄마가 말했어요. ‘이제 우리 일어나야겠군.’
Dad looked at the broken bed. Then he sighed and looked at Mum. ‘I know what we’ll be doing this morning,’ he said.
아빠는 부서진 침대를 바라봤어요. 그리고는 한숨을 쉬면서 엄마를 봤어요. ‘오늘 아침에 무엇을 해야할 지 알겠군.’ 아빠가 말했어요.
